In most cases, the difference between a good interviewer and a bad interviewer is the quality of training that they've been provided with.
Good interviewers understand exactly what information they require to make good hiring decisions, and how to structure their questions in order to get that information. They also know how to properly sell their role to ensure that good candidates don't slip through their fingers.
Bad interviewers are invariably well-intentioned, but their lack of skills & knowledge often result in costly hiring mistakes, or unimpressed candidates dropping out of the hiring pipeline.
Whether it's 1-2-1 training for key interviewers, or a group session for larger numbers, we will design your Interviewer Training to suit your company's specific requirements.
Sessions can take place onsite or via Teams/Zoom, and cover areas such as:
Candidates perform better - and provide us with more detailed and reliable information - when they are relaxed. Knowing how to get the best out of a candidate will increase the chances of you selecting and securing the top candidate for your role
If you aren't interviewing with a purpose, then you are wasting your time. Good interviewers make sound hiring decisions because they understand exactly what information they are looking for, and how to get it
It's highly frustrating when strong candidates drop out of your recruitment process or accept another offer. Learn how to uncover a candidate's key motivators, and how to present your opportunity in such a way that ticks their boxes

We can then discuss your training needs in depth, and agree on the type and duration of programme that best suits your requirements.
While some clients still prefer programmes to be take place at their offices or an offsite venue, many companies now prefer training to be delivered via Zoom/Teams.
We believe that remote training offers greater flexibility for your delegates, and is easier to break down into shorter, easier-to-consume learning sessions. Also, with Hiring Managers spending less time in the office, it can be extremely challenging to get them to commit to spending several of those hours in a training room!
However, it's your programme and, whether it's onsite or remote, we will tailor our delivery to meet your needs.
The last couple of years have seen huge changes in the way we all work, with increased flexibility in working hours and locations.
We realise that Hiring Managers are understandably reluctant to spend long periods of their day in a training room, especially when they may only be in the office 1-2 times per week.
In recognising this, we can be as flexible as your needs require, and are happy to deliver multiple shorter, remote training sessions to your individual hiring managers.
Again this will be determined by your specific requirements. However, we advise that small numbers - ideally individual - can work best, as it allows sessions to be paced and tailored to the specific needs of the Hiring Manager, thus improving engagement and learning.
We believe that Interviewer Training should be carried out by someone with extensive experience in the area, and therefore all our sessions are delivered by Joe Foley.
We do not delegate our programmes to junior trainers or outsource to 3rd party consultants.
At joecareers.com, we pride ourselves on delivering bespoke programmes that meet the specific needs and objectives of our clients.
As soon as we have a clear understanding of your requirements and how we can best meet them, we will provide you with a detailed quotation.

Few business decisions are as important as deciding who to hire. Consider Recruitment, Onboarding, Training and Exiting, and the cost of every single hiring mistake will run into the thousands.
And that's before you take into account the inevitable damage to team morale...
We've all been on training courses that we found informative, but then rarely got the chance to apply those skills in our daily jobs.
Interviewer training is different, as your hiring managers will develop skills that they will use on a daily/weekly basis, time and again throughout their careers.
Your employees want you to invest in their professional development, but they also want to learn at a pace that suits them, and at times and locations that align with their busy diaries.
We design flexible programmes that can be delivered remotely, in modular format, and at times that work for your hiring managers.
